    Treasurer Information

                            The County Treasurer is an elected official responsible for receipting, disbursing and investing all funds for the county. The Treasurer is also responsible for balancing, reconciling and ensuring that monies are correctly accounted for in separate funds as required by Missouri law.

                            The Perry County Treasurer also handles monies for Tax Sale Surplus, Unclaimed Property, Library Fund, Unclaimed Fees Due Others, County Employees Retirement Fund (CERF), Prosecuting Attorney's Bad Check Fund, Financial Institution Taxes, Criminal Cost Account, School Fines and Bond Forteitures, Juvenile Restitution Records Fund, Community Development Block Grants (CDBGs), maintains the Domestic Violence Shelter Fee Fund, Local Park Sales Tax Fund, Perry County Health Center Building Fund, SB 40 Tax Fund, Federal Revenue Sharing Fund, Perry County Recycling Fund, Record Storage & Preservation Fund, and pays Jurors Semi-Annually.

                            The County Treasurer provides a monthly financial report to the County Commission, and a Six-Month Settlement Report. In addition, she also provides the County Commission each month with 5-Year Comparison Reports for sales tax, gas tax, motor vehicle fees, motor vehicle sales tax, and local park tax.

                            The Treasurer's office also assists with bid documents for the selection of financial institutions used by the county. The Treasurer prepared the Investment Policy which has been adopted by the Perry County Commission . It is the Treasurer's responsibility to invest county tax dollars in safe, insured financial institutions.

                            The County Treasurer can provide Sales Tax charts for the current tax rates. Presently a business within the City of Perryville has a rate of 7.10%, the Village of Biehle is 6.225%, and all other areas of the county uses 5.225%.
