Leadership Perryville
The Perryville Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to offer a "Perryville Leadership" program. Through a series of eight monthly, one-day sessions, held in various locations in and around our town, participants are educated about Perryville. Participants meet and talk with Perryville’s leaders and through field trips, panel discussions, presentations and experiences, explore our city’s opportunities, needs and resources. Leadership Perryville provides a thought-provoking experience focusing on the attributes of our town, and what it means to be a leader. You will gain a unique perspective as you go “behind the scenes” on field trips to various locations in and around Perryville.
Sessions will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 8am - 2pm beginning on March 13, 2012. Each month will focus on specific topic areas including: Industrial, Education, Tourism, Government, Healthcare, Enterprise and Agriculture. On the final month, a graduation ceremony is held for the participants who completed the program.
The program includes aspects of leadership, problem solving techniques and networking. Criteria for participation is a demonstrated commitment to, and interest in, serving Perryville in a leadership role, a desire to learn more about community concerns and major issues facing Perryville, a willingness to commit time and energy to completing the program and the ability to demonstrate significant current community involvement in the region.
The benefits of participating include preparedness for community leadership by heightening awareness of key issues affecting Perryville, enhance creative problem solving and team building skills, interaction with prominent leaders who influence daily living in our community and establishing a professional network, which is utilized well beyond the program completion.
Candidates will be selected primarily on the basis of prior leadership experience and/or the desire to become a more effective leader. The class is limited to 20 participants. The leadership tuition fee is $250 for Perryville Area Chamber of Commerce members and $300 for non-members.
